About April (LPC-Associate)

With a rich background spanning over 15 years as an art educator, April Schodowski, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, brings a unique blend of creativity, fun and therapeutic expertise to her counseling practice. Board supervised by Rachel Mims (LPC-AT and Registered Art Therapist), April often integrates creativity into her therapeutic sessions, fostering a dynamic, adaptable and engaging approach.

April specializes in working with clients from pre-teens to adults, drawing upon her extensive experience as an educator, parent and advocate. Her commitment to understanding the intricacies of her clients' experiences and challenges allows her to create a space where individuals can explore their strengths and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Whether working one-on-one or with groups, April cultivates an atmosphere that encourages personal growth and expression.

In her practice, April particularly welcomes clients who may feel like they don't quite fit in or are navigating the challenges of neurodivergence or those who love someone who stands out. Furthermore, she provides a safe haven for individuals within the queer community, ensuring a supportive and affirming environment.

April Schodowski is passionate about guiding her clients toward building resilience, embracing their uniqueness, redefining their stories and creating meaningful connections. Through a collaborative and client-centered approach, she strives to empower those she works with to navigate life's challenges with confidence and authenticity.
